Everything LekhaJokha does, in one chat

Payments, udhaar, lists and notes. Your business books and your personal one. Trips shared with friends. Voice notes and photos. All of it on WhatsApp, in your own words — and, at the foot of this page, what it does not do yet.

Four kinds of record, from any message

You never pick a category. Write it the way it comes to you; LekhaJokha works out what it is and shows you exactly what it saved — an udhaar with a person, as a filled form you check first.

  • Payments — paid or received, who, how much, what for, and how
  • Udhaar — money still to come or to go, either way, with a last date
  • A shopping list — one running list, ticked off by number or by name
  • Notes — anything worth keeping, with tags
  • Several records in one message, and anything missing asked once
bijli ka bill 2340 pay kiya Sunny ne 10000 dene hain 10 kilo aata, 2 litre refined passport March mein expire

Filed as a payment, a list and a note — each reply shows what was saved. The udhaar comes back as a form filled in from your words, kept when you tap Save.

Business and personal, kept apart

Tell it your business's name once. Every record then goes in the right book, and the reply names it.

  • Up to nine businesses, plus your personal book
  • One message can go into two books at once
  • When it cannot tell, it saves the record and asks “Which one is this?”
  • Any answer for one book, or for all of them
Sharma Traders ke liye 5000 cement, aur ghar ka 800 sabzi

One message, two books. The reply lists “Where each went:”, with a button to move one.

Udhaar and khata, both ways

Who owes you and whom you owe, with the day it is due. When the money comes back, LekhaJokha asks before it closes anything.

  • A repayment closes the udhaar with one tap — or counts a part of it
  • “Which Rahul?” when two people share a name
  • Asks which way the money went when the words do not say
Sunil 2,000 nahi de paya, parso dega Sunil ne 2000 de diye

Once the first is saved from its form, the second offers to close it — the reply asks “Close … with this payment?”

Split a trip with friends

Start a circle for a trip or any shared cost. Add what each person paid; LekhaJokha splits it, keeps the budget and shows who owes whom.

  • Equal, by percentage, fixed amounts, or only the people who shared
  • A budget, with what is left after every expense
  • Friends join free and see it in their own chat; you keep the entries
Start a Goa trip with Raju, Amit and Ramesh Ramesh paid 2000 for dinner, split all

Before saving, the reply shows the split — “Split 3 ways:” — with Save and Change split.

Ask for your hisaab, in your own words

Every figure is worked out from your records — never guessed. A record it could not count is named, not quietly left out.

  • Spending over any period, and how many payments it took
  • Money in and money out, kept apart
  • One person's account, with what is still open between you
  • The day's totals: paid, received, owed to you, and what you owe
  • One record found by its words — a number plate, a bill number, a name
August mein kitna kharcha? Ramesh ka hisaab total udhaar kitna hai Show me the entry of bill 104

Answers come back in the chat, from your own records.

Speak it, or send a photo

A voice note in Hinglish, Punjabi or English is heard and filed like a typed message. A photo is kept the moment it arrives, then read.

  • The reply starts with “Heard:” and the words it heard, so a mishearing shows at once
  • A photographed shopping list becomes your list
  • A bill becomes a payment or an udhaar — you choose which
  • A payment screenshot is matched to the payment it proves
  • Ask for a saved photo back, and it sends it
Voice note, 12 seconds Photo of a parcha

Voice notes up to 30 seconds. A page is read up to forty lines; an identity document is refused on purpose.

Fix it in words, undo in a tap

It will sometimes mishear a name or misread an amount. That is why every reply shows exactly what was saved — or, for an udhaar with a person, what was read, before you save it.

  • Say what was wrong — even about an older record — and it shows “Change this?” before it changes anything
  • Tap Undo: “Undid your last change:” and what changed
  • Amounts are traced to your own words, and anything not counted is said
dinner 2000 nahi 2500 tha undo

Nothing changes until you confirm it.

Your records stay yours

They are never sold and never used to advertise to you, and every service that helps run LekhaJokha is named in the privacy policy.

  • Send delete my data and confirm once to delete your records, files and account
  • The few records we keep after a deletion are listed in the privacy policy
  • Friends in your circle never see your phone number

Coming soon

What it does not do yet, one line each. All of it is on the list — we would rather you read it here than find it later.

  • Voice notes stop at 30 seconds. A longer one is kept, and told to you.

  • A photo is read to forty lines, under 5 MB. Video, stickers and location are not read.

  • An udhaar closes with a tap. Saying “Ram's udhaar is paid” in words is not read yet.

  • Interest on udhaar is being built. Today an udhaar keeps the amount you said.

  • Questions are a fixed set. No spending by purpose, no month against month, no export.

  • There is only one shopping list. Every book shares it, for now.

  • In a circle, only its owner writes. Friends see it and can flag an entry.

  • No reminders are sent. A date is recorded, but nothing pings your phone.

  • No website login yet. Everything lives in the chat, and no PDF statement yet.

  • Its replies come back in Hinglish and English. Your own words are quoted back in your script.
